How much does it cost to grade a sports card?

The total depends on grader, service tier, number of cards, shipping, insurance and submission service. Use the dedicated cost calculator first if you need the all-in cost per card, then compare raw and graded outcomes here.

Sports card grading is a downside-and-upside calculation

Rookies, parallels, numbered cards and autographs can have large grade premiums, but a 9 instead of a 10 can change the economics completely. Compare multiple grades, not just the headline top-grade sale.

Use it across major sports

The calculator works for baseball, basketball, American football, soccer, hockey and other sports cards. Enter the raw and graded values for the exact set, player, card number, parallel and grader.

Include the full selling path

Grading fee, insured shipping and marketplace fees all reduce the premium. If you sell privately or plan to keep the card, set selling fees to zero and use the result as a grading-cost comparison instead.

A small grade premium can disappear after costs

For a hypothetical sports card worth 50 raw and 80 at grade 9, a 10% selling fee and total grading costs of 25 give raw net 45 and graded net 47: just 2 more. These are example inputs, not market prices. Match the player, year, set, card number, parallel and serial numbering, and use current sold comparisons. Enter custom grader fees; the calculator does not look up PSA prices.

Check current grading fees

This calculator uses the fees you enter; it does not retrieve live PSA or CGC prices. Check the current service, declared-value limits, shipping and any applicable extra charges before submitting.
